Are you aware of how many times you are Hypnotized daily in real life!
Hypnosis is simply a way of getting around critical, objective thinking. And, it is much easier to Hypnotize someone when they’re not even looking for it.
In desultory conversation, your critical thinking objective is to find the subject and verb of every sentence so you can make meaning out of what is being said.
All the other words are just patter. Filler to add depth and to keep the sentence moving…or are they?
In truth, those other words, the ones most likely to move unnoticed by any conscious awareness, are the words that add meaning. They are the ones that deepen the understanding.
Jack jumps. Analytically you know exactly what’s happening. Subject and Verb.
Jack jumps swiftly. Now you also have a picture of how quickly Jack jumps.
Jack easily jumps swiftly. Now your internal understanding may include a nice physique for Jack since jumping is easy for him.
Everyone knows Jack easily jumps swiftly. That’s a persuasive way to send you on an internal search to prove to yourself that you know what everyone else knows. Interestingly, even if you didn’t know Jack before, if everyone knows, then it must be true.
Everyone knows Jack easily jumps swiftly when it comes to forming opinions. Suddenly Jack may now be seen in a very different way.
Everyone knows Jack easily jumps swiftly when it comes to forming the wrong opinions. Did your image of Jack change again?
Well, at least now, no one can say you don’t know Jack!
With a few well-placed words in a single sentence, Your mental impression can be manipulated. That’s how easy it is to Hypnotize someone in conversation. When a little bit of strategy is applied to speaking, magic occurs in the mind of the listener.
Now, imagine how often you are hypnotized when you least expect it.
You can begin to train yourself to recognize when you’re being persuaded/hypnotized.
Listen carefully for phrases such as:
Everyone knows…
You’re probably already aware…
I’m sure you already know…
You know better than anyone else…
Of course…
You may have already heard…
The smartest people on the planet know…
It’s easy to understand…
Phrases like those pave the way for belief in whatever follows because - The Persuasion is enhanced when analytical thinking is bypassed and replaced by a presupposition of truth. Hypnosis Happens when a suggestion is accepted and becomes a belief. There were five opportunities in the examples above to create (or change) an impression of Jack .
